But anywho, since you read a lot of books, I was wondering what books I should read to help me feel better about myself and gain independence so I'll be mentally stable for dorm life in college. My parents have always sheltered me and stuff and I feel like I'm panicking too much already about fitting in and college and stuff when I still have 4 months until graduation ... any tips please ?

That’s a good question. In high school, I had parents that barely let me leave the house or do anything so I see where you’re coming from. To be honest, I may not be the biggest fan of that brand of child rearing but I definitely see why they did it and I appreciate it. I’m pretty much a loner (and perfectly happy being one), I lived in a dorm for 2 years and didn’t have any problem fitting in or anything - mostly because I didn’t even attempt to. I also didn’t really make any friends at my actual school or do anything at school other than go to class so I might be the wrong person to ask lol As far as books, 90% of the books I read are fiction. One book I read a long time ago that might help is “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”, hopefully people reply to this with more suggestions as I’m failing at this.

Don’t panic though, college isn’t nearly as scary as you might think it is. First and foremost, your focus should be school itself. Don’t worry too much about fitting in. I’m a firm believer in everything falling into place exactly how and when it should and as long as you’re being yourself and doing what you’re supposed to do, you shouldn’t stress anything. Stress is the worst thing for a college student (or anyone really). Do what you enjoy, try new things and don’t be afraid to do them alone. Don’t be scared to branch out and do things that you want to do but also don’t feel pressured by anyone/anything. College is your time. I’m sure everything will turn out just fine.
